We are leaving for New Orleans Wednesday. That is less than 24 hours from now. So on edge...

I have so much going through my mind. And some of it is trying to figure out what to pack and what not to pack. It's hard to figure out what I will want or need in the next few days. I can't pack a lot, so that cuts it down.

Eep, a bit too much at Walmart tonight

09:42 Jul 29 2008

Harmony and I went out to Walmart earlier to get some trim for a skirt of mine, and to put pics in the machine. I have about 400 + pics to have printed. I had to make room on my camera for the trip to New Orleans.

So Danny says, "I don't want you going out there and spending $50 dollars!". "I won't.". We ended up going back to Walmart and got a few supplies for the trip and more trim.

We spent $85. Went on the Walmart card. I told Harmony, "Well, at least we didn't spend $50.".

He's gonna shit. I am hoping I can avoid the "how much did you spend?" question for awhile.

SOUGHT REVENGE AFTER HOTEL ROOM SCUFFLE

Last updated: 10:58 am

July 24, 2008

July 24, 2008

Christian Bale's mother and sister are "devastated" that their confrontation with the actor led to his arrest but they also believe he had to be "taught a lesson," London's Sun newspaper reported.

The two went to his hotel room Sunday so his sister, Sharon, could ask him for a $200,000 loan to help raise her three children.

"The Dark Knight" star refused.

At some point during the discussion, Bale's mother, Jenny, reportedly insulted his wife, Sibi Blazic, which caused him to "fly off the handle." He allegedly "pushed and shoved" his mother and sister, The Sun reported.

Bale was questioned for four hours by police earlier this week about the incident but then released. He has denied the charges.

Today in Spain, Bale said at a press conference for the movie, "It's a deeply personal matter. I would ask you to respect my privacy in the matter."

A source close to the case told The Sun, "Christian is a very wealthy young man and was asked to help his sister out financially. He was asked to loan her £100,000 but he refused and that caused an almighty row.

"During that row, the women claim, he assaulted them by pushing and shoving them. Both Jenny and Sharon are terribly upset over what happened.

They did not want any publicity and the last thing they wanted to do was wreck his premiere evening. But they say he bullied them. They are both devastated that it has come to this but want him to be taught a lesson."

Bale has to return to London in September to find out whether he will be charged.

Jamie, warrior againt spiders

10:00 Jul 28 2008
Times Read: 875

Man, I just found another huge spider in here. It scared the shit out of me. *shudder*

We have an old house. There are so many holes in this place. It really makes me a nervous wreck sometimes.

I was sitting here, with the main light off, and heard an almost inaudible scratching sound of plastic. I stopped my typing and listened hard for another sound. Nope, stopped. So I resumed my typing. Heard it again. "Hmm...".

I turned on the over head light and looked around on the floor. We have had some problems with those big grass spiders coming in under the front door. I couldn't see anything on the floor and then I looked up about 2 feet. There was the demon from hell, stretched out and walking on the black travel bad we are taking to New Orleans, hanging on the handle of the closet door. The fucker was huge! I freaked. Danny is at work and I can't step on them. Besides it was on the wall, basically.

So I ran and grabbed the new can of Raid and sprayed it at the spider. I didn't know it was going to be spraying a stream. Well the spider dropped and ran and I was spraying streams like mad. The spider ran behind the computer table. And there is a ton of shit under the table for the spider to hide in! *chills*

I called Danny and while talking to him, Raid in one hand, flashlight in other, speakerphone on my Motorola, I saw it again, walking by my shoes. So I told Danny to get his butt home and I sprayed the shit out of the spider again.

Danny got home and disposed of the drowned spider. I still had chills long after he had thrown it away. Now I have a lot of bug spray to clean up. Eh, I think I will wait a bit.

And this reminds me of the other night too. Another one of the same spiders was in the house, along the floorboard/wall. I was talking to Danny and I spotted it and said, "Oh shit, Danny, there's a huge spider in here!". I took a shoe over to it and closed my eyes and swung at it. Opened them and it was GONE. Aighhh!

By the time Danny got home, the damn thing was gone. It was big too. Not quite as big as this one tonight, but BIG.

So about 30 minutes later, I was sitting on the couch, talking to Danny, watching TV and the damn thing comes running out of the shadows at me. "Oh shit, there he is! There he is, oh, get 'em Danny!!!". And he did. He said it was freaking HIM out, being so big. I felt better though. Whew....I said, "That fucker was running right at me!".

Vinegar

04:58 Jul 28 2008
Times Read: 882

Ok, so I am trying the vinegar drinking thing to see what it does.

I like vinegar, but not straight, and I like it on cod fish and the fish from Long John Silvers. Oh and on Hush Puppies!

But putting 2 tablespoons of it in a bottle of water and drinking on it, is hard to do. I have though, done this for the past two evenings. Blech! Tonight, I decided to just take 2 tablespoon shots of it. Fuck the slow sipping tonight.

Now many claim vinegar helps them lose some weight. I haven't decided if it's water weight or moving the metabolism faster. It's known as a diuretic too. I have noticed about a 1/2 inch difference in my waist. But I dunno.....maybe, maybe not. As you can see in a few entries under this, that vinegar has it's place in history as a really helpful condiment. I say condiment, because I am not sure where it belongs on the food chain. But apparently the Egyptians used it for many things. It has to be the right kind yet.

It's even supposed to work with bowel funtion and all sorts of things, but it doesn't make me poop, so I dunno about that. hahaha.....

I also read about cayenne peper speeding up metabolism. And then I thought about Beyonce and her cayenne pepper diet. Hmm...and it's hard to find cayenne pepper! None at Walmart or United stores. I found some at Walgreens though and should have grabbed it. I simply made a mental note of it. I was thinking today about the pepper thing, wondering what I could put the pepper on to eat? I won't be putting it in the vinegar. haha......

I am not usually one for fad diet stuff. But it is for so many body ailments, I thought, why not? Maybe for a few days.

Who bankrolls Jesse Jackson?

04:31 Jul 27 2008
Times Read: 890

Dear Newsmax Reader,

Who bankrolls Jesse Jackson?

The answer might surprise you. By and large, it is not African-Americans.

It is Corporate America.

Yes, the checks are written by corporate executives — who are mostly rich and white.

I am writing to ask for your help.

RACE HUSTLER’S REAL CONSTITUENCY

Big companies support Jackson and his organization, Rainbow/PUSH.

They include Anheuser-Busch, Bank of America, Boeing, Citigroup, Coca-Cola, Comcast, Ford, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, GE, PepsiCo, and Shell.

These companies make five and six figure donations.

Every time you buy their products or do business with them, you are subsidizing this hustler.

Earlier this month, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made major donations, even as they were melting down!

This situation will continue until there is a response by customers and shareholders like you and me.

With your help, we will show corporate executives that they will pay a price for caving in to Jackson.

NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE CUTS OFF JACKSON

In 2002, we targeted the NYSE. Disgraced NYSE Chairman Richard Grasso lavished hundreds of thousands of dollars on Jackson. He lent NYSE prestige to Jackson’s “Wall Street Conference” by sponsoring the event, and speaking at it.

We kept on the pressure for three years.

In 2005, the media confirmed that the NYSE had ended support of Jackson’s groups as a result of NLPC protests.

Since that time, Jackson has desperately tried to get the NYSE support reinstated but he has been thwarted.

We are now going after individual companies.

Please consider a tax-deductible gift today in support of this effort.

CONFRONTING CORPORATE AMERICA

In 2006 and 2007, we sponsored shareholder proposals with Jackson’s major corporate supporters. I attacked their support for this demagogue directly to the CEOs, with their boards and many shareholders looking on.

Last year, I spoke before 18,000 people at the Wal-Mart annual meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I was put up on a big screen in the Bud Walton Arena.

I explained that how, under attack from Jesse Jackson, Wal-Mart had put a Jackson crony named Christopher Williams on its board of directors. I said, “Did that shut up Jackson? No, not at all.”

This spring, we sponsored shareholder proposals at Anheuser-Busch, Boeing, GE and United Airlines.

Jesse Jackson’s recent attack on Barack Obama provides us with an opportunity. Jesse Jackson now comes off as bitter and jealous. Let’s press the advantage while it exists!

JESSE JACKSON HAS NO CLOTHES

I think that the executives who “play ball” with Jesse Jackson know exactly what they are dealing with: a racial extortionist whose real agenda is not civil rights, but his own enrichment.

The emperor of “racial justice” has no clothes.

Most Americans fully understand what Jackson is up to, including most African-Americans.

Our goal is nothing short of ending all corporate support for Jesse Jackson.

Your gift today will help us build on extensive actions to date.

NLPC is the only organization that regularly monitors and documents the statements and actions of Jesse Jackson.

I have been a guest 11 times on The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel to discuss Jesse Jackson!

We are in this fight for the long term.

WHAT IS NLPC?

Founded in 1993, our mission is to promote ethics in public life. We have a track record of accomplishment:

1993- NLPC successfully sued Hillary Rodham Clinton’s secret health care task force to open its meetings and records. In their recent books, both Hillary and former Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal acknowledged NLPC’s role in sinking her plan.

1996- Liberal FDA Commissioner David Kessler resigned soon after NLPC secured documents under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) showing that he overbilled his expense reimbursements.

2003- NLPC exposed the Boeing Tanker Deal Scandal, eventually sending two Boeing executives to jail, and saving taxpayers $4-5 billion, and perhaps a lot more.

2005- Two PACs associated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) were fined $21,000 as a result of a FEC Complaint.

2006- We exposed the earmarking scandal involving Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-WV), and triggered an ongoing FBI investigation. Mollohan resigned as ranking Democrat on the House Ethics Committee.

2007- Senator Lisa Murkowski, a Liberal Republican from Alaska, sold back land she had bought in a “sweetheart” deal a day after NLPC filed a Complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee.

2008- Last week we filed a Complaint with the FEC against Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY). He was exposed as having four rent-controlled apartments in Harlem, one of which he illegally used for a campaign office.

In short, NLPC gets results! Through these successes, we have also built credibility.

We must now turn our experience and skills to exposing and stopping corporate America’s support for Jesse Jackson.

PLEASE, WON’T YOU HELP?

I refuse to join the political establishment and accept Jackson as a legitimate religious or political figure. You do not have to, either.

Please make a tax-deductible gift by clicking here.

Most Americans are unaware that Jesse Jackson is bankrolled by corporate America. Your gift will allow us to expose and put an end to this shakedown.

Sincerely,

Peter Flaherty

President

P.S: RECEPIENT_NAME, Jesse Jackson himself has complained of NLPC’s “unending attacks.” Your gift today will help us keep them up.

Hmm, got some thigh flappin' going on in my Flapper dress

07:41 Jul 26 2008
Times Read: 906

I am sitting here in the outfit I am planning on wearing to the ball/event. When did my outer thighs grow about 2 inches, outward? I mean, I knew they had a bit, but I have done more leg lifts lately and it has helped, but not to where I was when I used to wear this dress apparently.

*sigh*

I THOUGHT I had more room in the hips than I do now in this dress. I know I did....just a little, not a lot, but enough to have to s-q-e-e-z-e into the dress now, worrying about splitting the zipper or the sides apart. And it's shorter than I remember. All my cellulite will show in back. haha.....

I used to wear this dress quite a bit actually, different places, not just out for the evening.

Reminds me of a kid I see walking down the street every once in awhile wearing a full Spiderman outfit. That's me, but in Flapper attire. :P

Ok, now wait....I am recalling that time more now. I weighed more then, by about 15 pounds, so no, I couldn't have slipped into it easier then. Wth? I am thinking that I could get it on easier then because I had pantyhose on then. Still going to keep up with the leg lifts.

Fun in the bathroom

It's always funny to me when I see people's pictures of themselves taken in the bathroom. Not that I don't. I do. But it's funny because they don't edit the pictures or crop the toilet, bath towel rack, sink, clutter out of the picture.

Also, when people take a picture of themselves and it's obvious because it shows the long arm in the picture. Again, no editing or creative positioning. I have gone to great lengths to avoid these common and tacky photographs. And if you do see my arm, it's because I want you to.

Course I am quite anal about details. I have Virgo ascendant, and 3 or 4 planets in Virgo, and my Vedic ascendant is Virgo too. Detail oriented, critical and meticulous.

None of the other pictures showed anything unusual. The position is all wrong to be a reflection, even if it did resemble any of us. Yet if it were inside the house, it would have to be close to the window to be that clear, and in that case, it would be much bigger than it is. The big question is, do I buy the house??"

Apple Cidar Vinegar -- for my information

10:16 Jul 24 2008

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries as a folk remedy for a selection of ills. The ancient Egyptians, as far back as 3000 BC, and even the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, sang the praises of this unique, yet humble, product.

apple cider vinegar

Fermenting apple juice to alcoholic apple cider, and then letting the oxygen interact with it, turns the alcohol into acetic acid - one of the "magic" ingredients in the finished product. To help this process along from the alcoholic base, "mother" is added - that being the spider web look-alike bacteria foam that forms during the fermentation process.

Apple cider vinegar - Introduction

The saying of "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" comes from the medieval English saying, which really goes "to eat an apple before going to bed will make the doctor beg for his bread."

This would be hard to believe in our modern day world, where our health is kept together and disease is kept at bay by a battery of doctors - ranging from cardiologists, dermatologists, gynecologists, internists, oncologists, neurologists, pathologists, radiologists etc.

Some people complain that it might be too acid to drink, but that is really a fallacy since the acidity is lower than that of commercial cola!

LET US PLEASE EXPLAIN: The actual pH would be HIGHER - meaning that it is a LOWER acid value - being MORE towards being neutral - on its way to being alkaline.

And to make it even easier to swallow, we developed the apple cider vinegar capsule with gotu kola, where the active liquid is freeze dried, combined with the greatly beneficial gotu kola (Centella asiatica) herb, and capsulated in our laboratory - to make taking it an easy procedure.

Substances in apple cider vinegar

Scientists have measured ninety different substances in apple cider vinegar such as thirteen types of carbolic acids, four aldehydes, twenty ketones, eighteen types of alcohols, eight ethyl acetates etc.

It also contains important minerals, trace elements and vitamins (as listed underneath) as well acetic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, enzymes, amino acids as well as roughage in the form of potash and apple pectin.

For a full analytical list ingredients contained in apples, please click here.

Minerals and trace elements

Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Chlorine, Sodium, Sulfur, Copper, Iron, Silicon, Fluorine.

Vitamins

Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Provitamin beta-carotene, Vitamin P.

Useful in

Well functioning metabolism; Reducing cholesterol (the dangerous LDL cholesterol type); Regulating the water content in the cells and body; Reducing water retention in the body; Reducing excess sodium from the body; Helps with regulating blood pressure; Assists in preventing circulatory problems; Helps with diminishing premature calcification of the arteries; Helps increase concentration and memory; Assists in blood circulation, body temperature as well as vitality and energy.

Arthritis

This condition of inflammation of the joints is a major chronic disease in the West, and is believed to be partly caused by a build-up of toxic wastes in the tissues, causing irritation. It is thought that these metabolic toxic wastes can be contained by eliminating food allergies as well as unhealthy life styles such as smoking, not exercising and being obese.

Arthritis suffers have reported a positive influence that apple cider vinegar has on the pain experienced as well as slowing down the progression of this disease. Most people using it as a therapy for this problem ingest it four times a day.

Asthma

Although orthodox medicine might not agree with this remedy, some people have found relief from asthma by ingesting apple cider vinegar, as well as applying pads, soaked in apple cider vinegar, under pressure to the inside of the wrists.

Blood pressure

The potassium in apple cider vinegar is said to be beneficial to both the heart and blood pressure, and in some quarters this remedy is said to assist in making the blood thinner, and thereby assisting with blood pressure and in the prevention of a stroke.

Bones

The manganese, magnesium, silicon (and calcium) found in apple cider vinegar has been linked in sustaining bone mass, which is important in the fight against osteoporosis.

A supplement of apple cider vinegar could for this reason be valuable to consider should you suffer from a calcium shortage, have a problem with osteoporosis, or if you are entering your postmenopausal stage, where a risk of bone loss could cause a problem.

Cancer

Although apple cider cannot cure cancer, it is a valuable ally to have around to help fight free radicals in the body, which have been shown to be indicative in the formation of various cancers. Beta-carotene, found in apple cider vinegar, is a powerful antioxidant, which helps in neutralizing the free radicals, formed in our bodies through oxidation.

To prevent these free radicals, and to keep them in check, we need antioxidants in our system to rid our bodies of these potentially dangerous compounds. If free radicals are left alone to have the run of our bodies, they cause major damage by severely damaging cells, which leads to aging and degeneration.

The pectin in apple cider vinegar adds fiber to the diet, and even the American Cancer Society promotes a high fiber diet to help with preventing cancer, especially colon cancer. The reason for this is that fiber binds with certain cancer causing (carcinogenic) compounds in the colon, and speeds up their elimination from the body.

Candida

Although there are different factors influencing the formation of candida (which is a yeast infection) a disturbance of your diet, as well as an intake of antibiotics must be looked at when you experience such an episode of candida flare-up, since the yeast balance in your body can be thrown out of sync by these two factors.

A selection of topical creams and lotions are available, but a cheap alternative can be found by douching twice a day with a solution of ACV until the symptoms disappear. The solution is made from 2 tablespoons of ACV to a quart of lukewarm water - this solution will assist in restoring the acid balance.

Cholesterol

A good warning system for heart disease is the presence of high blood cholesterol in the system. To help prevent this is to follow a lifestyle which includes eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables, maintaining your ideal weight, getting enough exercise while avoiding processed foods, junk foods and hydrogenated oils.

Another way is to add fiber to your diet, especially water-soluble fiber - such as the pectin found in apple cider vinegar. Water-soluble fiber soaks up water, which adds bulk, and interacts with your body, and also keeps on working longer than non water-soluble fiber.

Fiber also soaks up fats and cholesterol in the body and then is excreted instead of being reabsorbed.

Non water-soluble fiber soaks up moisture in the body, but cannot interact with the body. The amino acids contained in apple cider vinegar have also shown promise in neutralizing some of the harmful oxidized LDL cholesterol.

Colds

It has been found that the pH factor (the acidity factor) of the body becomes a bit more alkaline prior to a cold or flu striking you down. When you take apple cider vinegar it helps to rebalance the acid level of your body.

Another remedy for colds and flu, and said to be specifically beneficial for chest complaints during the winter, is to soak a piece of brown paper with apple cider vinegar, and to place pepper on the one side of the paper. You then tie the paper, pepper side down, on to your chest and leave on for 25 - 30 minutes.

Constipation

Not having proper bowel movements is blamed for many illnesses and diseases which befall us. The logic behind it stating that should the waste products from our bodily functions be retained in the body, for longer than what nature intends, it will cause toxins to be absorbed back into the system.

As we age our bodies produce less and start to lag behind in the manufacture of digestive acids (hydrochloric acid), pepsin and digestive enzymes - which can cause constipation. When we add fiber to our diet, such as the pectin in apple cider vinegar, we assist our body by having regular bowel movements and proper elimination.

Cramps

If you have never woken up in the middle of the night with cramps tearing through your calves, feet or legs, you would not understand the agony. A useful remedy to assist with this is to take apple cider vinegar.

Diabetes

This disease is becoming more and more common, and there may be various reasons for this phenomena, but it must be remembered that it is not only extremely serious, but needs proper medical supervision, and a strict adherence to dietary rules and medication, as prescribed by your medical practitioner. It is however interesting to note that added dietary fiber, such as contained in apple cider vinegar, is beneficial in controlling blood glucose levels.

Diarrhea

There are various causes for diarrhea, and although it should not be left untreated, it sometimes is a way for the body to rid itself of harmful compounds and ingested materials. The pectin in apple cider vinegar is great to take when suffering from this problem, since this water-soluble fiber swells up, and forms bulk.

It is also an effective ingredient to use against certain bacteria which causes diarrhea and the intestinal flora also transforms pectin into a protective coating which soothes the irritated lining of the colon. Next time you have a problem, consider this most humble treatment.

Depression

Although prescribing apple cider vinegar for depression would be classed as extremely alternative, some Eastern medicines do believe that depression is the symptom of a "stagnant" or tired liver. If you believe in this philosophy, then apple cider vinegar would help to fight depression, since it is a great medium to help detoxify and clean the liver.

Eyes

Cataract development in the eye is associated to oxidation of the lens of the eye due to alterations caused by free radicals changing the structure of the lens. With this in mind apple cider vinegar can be of use with this problem, since the antioxidant properties of beta-carotene contained in apple cider vinegar, are great in combating free radicals.

Fatigue

Lactic acid is released in the body during exercise as well as periods of stress, and this can lead to fatigue, which in turn can be combated by the amino acids contained in apple cider vinegar. The enzymes, as well as the potassium contained in apple cider vinegar can also be of great help in the quest for more energy and vitality.

Food poisoning

Because of the great disinfectant qualities inherent in apple cider vinegar, some people when suffering from mild cases of food poisoning use it with success. If you suffer from violent symptoms, and suspect serious food poisoning please contact your medical practitioner immediately.

Gallstones and Kidney stones

A theory exist that the acids found in apple cider vinegar are beneficial in breaking up kidney stones and gallstones, by softening or dissolving them. Although we cannot guarantee any results, since there are so many other influencing factors, it might be worth your while to supplement your diet with apple cider vinegar, should you be suffering from gallstones or kidney stones.

Headaches

The cause of headaches can be stress, allergies, tiredness, problems with your gallbladder, liver, kidneys, or a variety of other factors. Although apple cider vinegar cannot be touted as a headache treatment, is has been found that people have slightly more alkaline urine when suffering from a headache, and with this apple cider vinegar could be effective, since it will assist in bringing your body's acid level back into sync.

The inhalation of apple cider vinegar could also assist with a headache - and can be achieved by adding some apple cider vinegar to boiling water in a big pan, removing it from the stove and carefully inhaling the vapor.

Heart

Since apple cider vinegar is used to promote the health of veins and capillaries, it is by implication also useful in assisting in the health of the heart and blood pressure. The potassium found in the apple cider vinegar is also beneficial to the heart.

Indigestion

When people start talking about indigestion they immediately start referring to the "excess" stomach acid that they have! In most cases it is NOT a case of an excess of stomach acid, but a shortage of it.

Hydrochloric acid and pepsin, an enzyme working in an acid environment, are needed to break down the food effectively, and a shortage of these two ingredients will lead to a sluggish digestion of food and resultant indigestion. Taking apple cider vinegar may assist in effecting a remedy.

Metabolism

The quest for achieving the ideal weight always will include effective and efficient metabolism. Without it, your dietary intake will not be metabolized correctly, the nutrients will not be available to the body, and will result in excess weight being added to the body frame.

Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries in aiding the liver to detoxify the body and to help with digesting rich, fatty and greasy foods, and for proper metabolizing of proteins, fats and minerals. If the food cannot be broken down into the absorbable form, the body cannot assimilate the required nutrients needed from the diet.

An added extra to help with this is the malic acid and tartaric acid found in apple cider vinegar, since they help to bring the acid content into balance, while killing off unwanted and unfriendly bacteria in the digestive tract.

Muscles

Lactic acid in muscles is the cause of the muscles feeling sore and stiff, but by adding some apple cider vinegar to your diet, it could assist the body to get rid of it at a faster pace, since it will help to break down the acid crystals, making it much easier to be flushed out the body.

Nasal congestion

A constant draining of mucus from the sinus cavities can both be sore and uncomfortable. It is best to cut out, or eat as little as possible, of mucus forming food - which traditionally, in most cases would be dairy products.

Many sufferers of nasal congestion have experienced relief by adding apple cider vinegar to their diet.

Sore throat

A gargle made from apple cider vinegar and water could prove to be a great relief for a sore throat - be that a bacterial or virus infection. The solution is a 50/50 mixture, and it is best to spit out the solution after gargling, which should be repeated every hour. After gargling rinse the mouth with clean water to prevent the acid from eroding the enamel on your teeth.

Stiff joints

A shortage of potassium in the body may cause stiff joints. Apple cider vinegar could help in relieving this problem when ingesting it, since it is a good source of the needed nutrient. Another remedy is to relax in a warm tub, with some apple cider vinegar added to the water.

Ulcers

Apple cider vinegar is showing great promise in helping to heal alcohol-induced ulcers, since it activates the body to start its own defensive mechanism. This, together with other indicators suggests that apple cider vinegar may in the near future be drawn into the fold of alternative ulcer preventing remedies.

Weight loss

Apple cider vinegar has been used as a weight loss remedy for centuries, and although the mechanics are not always clear on how it works, it really does work.

It has been suggested that the apple cider vinegar works because it makes the body burn calories better, that it reduces the appetite or simply that it gets the entire metabolism working at top efficiency.

But whatever the reason, the fact remains that it has stood the test of time as a fat-busting supplement, and has helped countless people to achieve their ideal weight.

"Lose Weight While You Sleep with Apple Cider Vinegar

by Darlene McFarlane, Sep 30, 2007

What I am about to share with you is amazingly true. About 15 years ago I read an article on how to lose weight while you sleep. At the time I didn’t have weight to lose nor did I understand the way our bodies worked. I didn’t care about losing weight back then so I had no reason to remember this article until many years later.

A thin person's body contains approximately 20 billion fat cells while someone who carries more weight has at least 150 billion fat cells or more. Fat cells build in the tissue of our sub cutis which is the layer of tissue just beneath our skin. It is necessary for our bodies to carry fat to protect us from the cold and is stored as a reserve of energy but, when we have a poor diet or overeat we end up with more fat cells than our body requires.

Preadipozites are empty fat cells. When we are young and as long as we are slim these cells are harmless but they can become dangerous as we get older or if you have an unhealthy diet. Fat will deposit first on the upper thighs, hips, stomach and buttocks and once empty fat cells start to accumulate they can easily get out of hand. By making a few changes to our diet we can prevent this from happening and if we already have signs of increasing bodyweight, we can stop and even reverse our weight gain and what better way to do it than while we sleep.

Our pituitary gland holds the secret to losing weight while we sleep. It is about the size of a cherry pit and sits roughly in the middle of the brain. Among the pituitary hormones is the growth hormone commonly referred to as GH who's job it is to repair and build our body while we sleep. In order to do it's nightly construction the pituitary gland needs energy to get the job done and the energy it uses is our stored body fat.

About 70 minutes after we fall asleep the pituitary gland kicks into action. It sends out millions of growth hormones to repair damage caused to our body during the day. These hormones open fat cells and release fat into the blood stream to be burned as fuel during repairs. If our sleep is interrupted, the pituitary gland will wait another 70 minutes after we fall back to sleep before it begins working again.

With this in mind I gained 80 pounds when I quit smoking. I was desperate to get rid of this excess weight but nothing seemed to work. I had forgotten about the growth hormone article I read years before and ran the gamut trying any diet I could lay claim to. After a year I finally gave up and resigned myself to life in a larger body. I began taking apple cider vinegar for other health reasons and faithfully took three tablespoons in a glass of water three times a day. I ate the same foods and did the same moderate exercise program as before but after a month I realized I was losing weight. It was wonderful! I was not even trying and the pounds were coming off. I was able to lose all but 25 pounds and no matter what I tried it seemed the last few pounds were destined to stay with me. This fat stayed in the most unflattering places and after a while I knew I would need to learn to live with it because it had made itself at home. Then one day I heard a talk show on the radio. They were talking about losing weight while you sleep and it brought to mind the article I had read so long ago only this one had a twist. The speaker said our growth hormones decrease as we mature and talked about using apple cider vinegar to give it the boost it needed to get the job done. He went on to explain that unlike traditional diets where you lose mainly water, ACV also burns body fat.

Coupled together, ACV and the pituitary growth hormone melt fat starting with the areas of the body where fat accumulates earliest. It made sense that if fat is taken from the most vulnerable areas first results will be noticed faster. This excited me and I decided to dust off my bottle of ACV and give it another try. I followed instructions and drank 4 tablespoons of ACV in 500 ml of water 20 minutes before each meal and smaller amounts of this cocktail between meals. I also drank 4 tablespoons of ACV in 500 ml of water before bed. The first night I made 4 lengthy trips to the washroom as the ACV flushed the excess water from my system put there from the salt in my diet. By morning I was pleasantly pleased. I threw out my bathroom scales three years before but I had skeptically measured myself around the largest part of my waist before bed.

That first morning I found I had lost a little over an inch. This was incentive enough to keep me motivated that day and again before bed I measured my waist. After a sound sleep with no interruptions, I was even more delighted the next morning to find that I had lost another two inches from my waist. I continued using the ACV and water several times a day for the next four days and I still found the results hard to believe. I lost one pant size and the fat deposits that I had carried with me since I quit smoking were almost gone! I told my daughter about my experience and she decided to start taking ACV as well. In the first three days she lost noticeable weight on her face and thighs.

We both continue to use our ACV and water and are now into our second week. We have not changed our exercise habits and eat healthy without sticking to a strict diet. We both find that our appetites have lessened, we are sleeping better, have higher energy levels and continue to lose inches.

Lose weight while you sleep. What could be easier!"

Btw, I read that it has to be organic apple cider vinegar and the mother should be on the bottle somewhere, I guess. Also, you should get it at the health food store not at regular store. And a few tablespoons in a bottle of water sounds about right. Not straight. And don't go overboard with it.

Why must people try to ruin a good time? Why must people try to dictate what others will or won't do?

Am I looking like the bad guy? *sigh*

I have a very strong sense of right and wrong, fair and unfair. Hell, you guys know that! hahaha........

*sigh*

Many of us look at things differently. Many of us differ in what we think is right and wrong. I know this. But the basics just seem like it would be open and shut.

Eh, I am tired of thinking and stressing on it, being so angry. It's not good for me and it's really not who I am.

But goddamnit I am pissed.....

What the fuck?!

I just saw that we can't take pictures at the New Orleans events, in the Masquarade Ball Photography thread. That REALLY freaked me out. For ME, that is like Tammy Faye not putting on her mascara and she did that even when she was gravely ill with cancer! I have been taking pictures of events since I was 12. I just can't fathom this. Some may not care, but you aren't into photography that much then.

I had never heard or read that before about the camera ban in the events. How could we NOT take pictures at such an event? It's not like it's a highly secure event. It's not like we are all celebs or the president. Who cares if someone is snapping random pictures? We are dressing up and looking snazzy, meeting for the first time and who wouldn't want to document the event with photography? My God, I am just in shock from that. This ruins my evening and makes me not want to even go to it. Assinign "rules".

I don't recall a vote being taken and being asked for my vote on it.

And I know we can stand outside and take pictures, but that it just stupid. I guess I can stay outside the room much of the time. I probably will anyway, because of the noise. But I won't know for sure until I am there.

To all of Estelle's Fans,

Sadly, today July 22, 2008 at 5:35 a.m. Pacific Time, we said our last good-byes to our little friend Estelle, who passed away and made her journey to the great beyond. Although it was a trip that she never wanted to take, she went gracefully, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family and her very loving care-givers.

Getty died in her Hollywood Boulevard home in Los Angeles from natural causes (according to her manager), three days before her 85th birthday.

Batman cuffed over alleged assault

Christian Bale questioned following hotel incident

By Lester Haines

Published Tuesday 22nd July 2008 15:04 GMT

Updated Christian Bale was arrested earlier today over an alleged assault on two family members in his suite at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday, the BBC reports.

Welsh-born Bale, in London for last night's premiere of The Dark Knight, is "alleged to have lashed out at his mother and sister". The incident was later reported to police in Hampshire, who referred it to the Metropolitan Police.

A Met spokesman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a police station in central London by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault - he currently remains in custody."

Update

Bale was this afternoon released on bail until September "pending further inquiries".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't like Christian Bale as an actor. Who knows what he is like as a person, but if he is pusing his mom and sister around, he can't be that cool. I can't watch him ever since I saw him in American Psycho. It's not just that he gives me the major creeps, but that he seems to be the same in every role he is in. Not much emotions really and just bland, boring, not much in the way of acting, to me. I am guessing that he thinks this makes him more intense seeming and mysterious or brooding. I don't see it as much of a range as an actor.
I can't really think of who would be good in the Batman role. I had forgotten that Clooney was one until O'Reilly mentioned it! Not good either. I was partial to Michael Keaton.
I do plan on watching the newest Batman, but because of Heath Ledger's riveting performance. I just get chills when I see him on screen. He has such charisma in that role and is mesmerizing. I have heard it's great.
So who would make a better Batman; someone with some personality. Will think on that.
4th of July
The week/weekend of the 4th, we went to my parent's house. Dad was home from the road for a week or so. We went to Independence, Kansas, which is our home town, really. There, you can fire off fireworks. It's like Iraq there around the 4th, it's great. Here, in Oklahoma, you can't do shit and get fined $500 even for having fireworks! What a shitass thing eh? So we went back to Kansas.
We slid on the old slides that were there as a kid. They were really long ones and the long climb up was scarier than I remembered!
After the great fireworks show and time in Indy, we bought some fireworks and went back to Oklahoma and fired ours off. We had a ton of them and nice ones at that. It just wasn't the same without Mom there though. Dad sat there in his chair, but Mom wasn't there too. I tried to keep him company when I wasn't avoiding falling debris or jumping around like an idiot.
On one of the mornings, after about an hour's sleep, I went with Dad to sign over their Jeep to me and Harmony, our daughter, for her graduation present! I was like, WOW, cool! We had to find a truck for my youngest brother, Justin, to drive though, around. We went everywhere and they wanted just sooo much money for trucks. We found one as we were about to go home that was eh......I didn't like it, but at least it said it had air. It's an old 1985 Dodge truck. It's white at least and Justin wanted a stick again. Dad got them down to about $3000. I can't believe they wanted that for that!
So I find out later the air doesn't work. GRR!! Dad was working on it when I went outside later, taking the steering wheel apart and trying to get it back together. Jeez.....Have found out since that the gas gauge doesn't work either. Justin ran out of gas the other day when he was on his way over here, about a mile or two from home and Danny had to call a friend over there to go help him and the dogs out.
It was then time for giving Harmony the Jeep. I got the camera ready and he put the keys down in front of her and gave her the title and went to reading a bit in his car book. Everyone was standing around watching her and she didn't understand what the title meant. So she read it and it started to dawn on her. Her neck started getting hot and she was flushed. It really hit her and she started to cry. It was so sweet and endearing. Then I started to cry because SHE was and Danny did too. Then the hugs for PawPaw.
Well, after I talked to you, I looked it all up on the net and found lots on that. I mean, lots, on lightening....I read about it for about 2 weeks. It works mainly for blondes....which I am not. But it will lighten some on mine and I tried it. =) I used chamomille tea, lemon juice, honey and yellow food coloring, all has a lightening agent in them...except the yellow food coloring. That is for color. Add this stuff and sit in sun and it lightens hair natural way. But it wasn't moving along fast enough for me, or enough. ;)
I have been offline for the past 2 days due to internet going down. It came on, on and off and then went kaput again before I got to do anything on there. Arg.......
I was going to meet Jason in Pryor, Oklahoma for the Rocklahoma gig, but he hasn't been on and dunno if he went. There is always New Orleans.
